Code Lavender:
Our caregivers are our most important asset.
With donor support, MultiCare launched Code Lavender in 2016 to provide a rapid response for staff who’ve experienced an emotionally stressful event. The global pandemic has increased rates of staff stress and burnout. Nearly three out of four nurses report concerns about stress and overwork. Seventy percent say they feel burned out, as do 50 percent of U.S. physicians.
Code Lavender helps staff by providing:
- Peer support team that includes physicians, nurses, chaplains, social workers and mental health counselors
- Immediate psychological support for a traumatic event
- 24/7 support hotline for all employees
- Twice-weekly meetings for MultiCare leaders to share the challenges they’re facing and strategies for success
Through Code Lavender, your generous support embraces health care heroes by increasing access to debriefings, educational presentations, reflection rounds and spiritual care. By lifting up care team members and creating a foundation of resilience and joy for providers, you’ll help ensure better patient care and outcomes.
