Steve Fitzer was "shameless" in his ability to "beg money" to advance a good cause. His favorite cause was the Mary Bridge Children’s Child Abuse Intervention Department (CAID). Steve recognized that abuse "will never end if you don't do something about it." This year, most children are isolated at home, making them all the more vulnerable to physical and sexual abuse. Unfortunately, many children may soon need the type of help that is only available at CAID.
Steve would have stepped up to that challenge, just like he was planning on doing this time last year. August 2019 found Steve at the YMCA, working daily towards completing a virtual Courage. We know he would have reclaimed the coveted honor of being the number one fundraiser for Courage. Sadly, our community lost this wonderful man on August 28th, 2019. Steve left a legacy that we, his family & friends, are very proud to honor. Steve was "not an athlete." He had a hard time "getting over the hills." But he knew that sort of pain "pales in comparison to the challenges abused kids have to meet each day." Our team name"Fitzer Courage," honors the courage that children face in dealing with physical and sexual abuse and also honors the courage that Steve displayed as he faced the many challenges of his life.
Steve wasn't the Courage's fastest cyclist, but he was its most passionate and successful fundraiser. As we approach the first anniversary of his death, please help us honor Steve by donating to the cause that he cared the most about, helping abused children through a donation to the Mary Bridge Children’s Child Abuse Intervention Department (CAID).
BY GIVING GENEROUSLY TO THIS IMPORTANT CAUSE, 100% OF YOUR DONATION WILL SUPPORT THE PROGRAMS AND SERVICES CAID OFFERS TO HELP CHILDREN AND FAMILIES SEEK JUSTICE AND HEALING.
