Event details

Yes! Come Walk With Me 2022 is an in-person event.

If you’re not able to join us on Saturday, October 1, you have the month of October to walk and continue fundraising.

We encourage you to share how you’re keeping the Come Walk With Me warrior spirit alive on Facebook.

7:30am - Check in begins, Food Trucks and vendor booths open
8:20am - Free Kids' 50-Yard Dash Begins
8:25am - Program and Guest Speaker
8:45am - Survivor Group Photo - Meet at the front steps of The Old Cannery
9:00am - 5K Walk Begins

The festivities begin and end at The Old Cannery Furniture Warehouse in Sumner (13608 Valley Ave East).

Registration

From June 15 through August 15, registration will be $20 for ages 13 and up. Registration will be $25 after August 15. Registration for cancer survivors and patients is $15, and kids ages 5 to 12 can register for $10. All children 4 and under are free, yet they do not receive a t-shirt.

Please note: all registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable.

Yes. Every participant must register themselves and pay the associated registration fees, even if they’re part of a larger team. Your Team Captain can’t register on your behalf. These fees help offset the operational costs of putting on the event each year.

The last day you can register online is September 29, 2022.

Yes you can! But, who wants to stand in line to register instead of enjoying the festivities? We encourage you to register now to avoid waiting on October 1.

If you’re walking as an individual or if you’re a Team Captain, yes! Skip the lines on event day and join us for pre-event packet pickup at 13223 Houston Road in Sumner on either Tuesday, September 27 from 10am to 6pm or Thursday, September 29 from 5 to 8pm.

If you’re part of a team but are not a Team Captain, please don’t come to packet pickup. Team Captains are responsible for distributing packets.

All participants registered by September 6 will receive an official Come Walk With Me T-shirt. Tees for participants who register after September 6 will be given out on a first come, first served basis. Register online to guarantee yours!

Because your registration fee helps contribute to the costs of producing the event, it isn’t tax-deductible. However, any amount you choose to donate or fundraise on top of the registration fee is tax-deductible.

The MultiCare Good Samaritan Foundation Tax ID number is 91-1514257.

Fundraising and Donations

Registration fees are a requirement for all participants, and we encourage all participants to continue to fundraise throughout October. Your fundraising helps support vital programs and services for breast cancer patients in your community. Rest assured that the funds you raise will always stay local donor contributions benefit resources for breast cancer patients and survivors at MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital.

Definitely! Utilizing your Participant Center is easy and the best way to reach your fundraising goals. You can also change your password, your username or update your personal information. When mailing in your donation(s), be sure to include a note letting us know your name and if you belong to a team, so we can ensure you receive the proper credit for your fundraising efforts.

We like where your head is at! Most employers have Matching Gift programs to match charitable donations made by their employees. It’s easy to do and a great way reach your fundraising goals even faster. Contact your Human Resources department today to find out if your company has a Matching Gift program, so you can double your support of breast health programs at MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital.

On event day

Absolutely. However, please be aware there are some spots of gravel and rough terrain along the route.

Sure! We love dogs, and we even have a Pinkest Pet Contest! Just make sure your pup is on a leash at all times, and you’re required to clean up after your pet.

Parking at The Old Cannery is not available. Please park at any of the parking lots in the surrounding area. You may also park on any of the Sumner streets as depicted by city signage (except Main Street, which will be closed). We strongly recommend carpooling.

All children ages 10 and under can participate in the Kids' Dash. This fun run is free of charge. Our little runners don’t need to check-in at the event. The race announcer will make an announcement for all kids participating to line up at the bridge (on the corner of Traffic and Main).

  • Survivor Photo
    All breast cancer survivors are invited to join us for a group photo before the start of the walk. Meet our event staff on the front steps of The Old Cannery at 8:45am.


  • Pinkest Pet Contest
    Do you have a pet who loves to show their support for Come Walk With Me just as much as you do? Enter them into our Pinkest Pet Contest. Stop by the Pinkest Pet booth.

    Not joining us in person? Send us a picture of your pet in pink by Sunday October 2. A winner will be announced through the Come Walk With Me Facebook page on Monday, October 3.

  • Bedazzled Bra Contest
    Gather your family members and get your creative juices flowing to create the most bedazzled and most fabulous bra you've ever seen … enter our beloved Bedazzled Bra contest! Stop by the Bedazzled Bra booth and submit your creation for judging.

    Not able to join us on October 1? Send a picture of your beautiful bra for our virtual competition to lynn.miller@multicare.org by Monday, October 3 at 5pm.

  • Visit downtown shops after the walk
    The fun doesn't stop when the walk ends! Take a stroll through the shops of downtown Sumner after completing the 5K route. Many shops will have treats, discounts and other surprises for Come Walk With Me participants. Look for the pink pumpkins in front of participating businesses.
