CuddleCot for MultiCare Deaconess Hospital

When our daughter Alma was stillborn on July 3, 2017, we were at a loss for what our future would look like without our youngest daughter.

More than anything, we longed for more time with her. We were grateful for how our hospital provided supportive care for us as a newly bereaved family. With the use of a CuddleCot, Alma's sister and other loved ones were able to meet, touch, and spend a bit more time with her.

It's difficult to express how important the use of this device was to us in our grief, but we believe that every hospital should give newly bereaved families the option of the use of a CuddleCot or similar device.

We recently learned that a non-profit hospital in Spokane, MultiCare Deaconess Hospital, didn't have one and had been looking for ways to provide extra support for grieving families. We wanted to give other families the opportunity we were given, which is why we started raising funds to purchase one for Deaconess Hospital.

We are so grateful for the outpouring of support. Generous contributions have allowed us to purchase the CuddleCot, and we plan to continue seeking donations to support other grieving families in the Inland Northwest. A top priority for these funds will be to provide bereavement education for clinical team members.

You can help us by donating to the MultiCare Inland Northwest Foundation. Your gift, in any amount, will make a difference. Thank you for considering helping to fund this in memory of Alma.
